The StatSheet Fan Satisfaction Index is a measure of how fans feel about their team at a particular point during the season. Is the team meeting expectations? Are they playing well? After each game we update the Fan Satisfaction Index by building on the results of previous games.
We've built a complex algorithm that uses a variety of factors to compute the Index. These factors include (a) how the team performed against expectations for its most recent game, (b) a measure of the team's momentum, as well as (c) a series of calculations of how the team is performing against their expectations for the season as deterimined by their (i) W/L record from last year, (ii) projected StatRank heading into the season, and (iii) projected finish within their division, conference or league. And last but not least, there is a little StatSheet analytical magic mixed in to capture the effect of long-term rivalries and the other important nuances that impact our lives as fans.
Below is a chart of the Fan Satisfaction Index for the Seattle Seahawks. Do you agree or disagree?
